Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.- The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
- The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
- Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
- The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
- The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Copyright Transfer Statement
The copyright of this paper is transferred to Academic at Risk (AAR) Journal of Human Rights and Refugee Studies if the paper is accepted for publication. The corresponding author, whose personal information and undersigned is below, transfers all copyrights of the paper to the Academic at Risk (AAR) Journal of Human Rights and Refugee Studies. The corresponding author declares and undertakes that the paper is original and that she/he is the author or one of the authors of the article. The corresponding author accepts and undertakes to provide permission notices from other copyright holders and materials whose original source is clearly stated when necessary. In addition, the corresponding author accepts and declares that she/he has the authority to perform and execute this task.
The corresponding author declares that:
- This paper is/was not published in another journal, book, proceedings book, etc.,
- Before the acceptance or rejection decision is done by the AAR Journal of Human Rights and Refugee Studies, it will not be submitted elsewhere,
- Copyright permission is obtained for materials that require permission to be published, reproduced and published elsewhere.
